Hazel Technologies is searching for a highly analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our growing Finance team at our Chicago headquarters.  

This role will be responsible for driving our budgeting, forecasting, and analytical reporting.  The incumbent must be a self-starter with strong modeling skills, keen attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple projects effectively.  This role also has regular interaction with leaders across the business and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Description:  

The FP&A Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Finance. This position will have the following areas of responsibilities:  


  • Prepare analyses and compile data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), operational dashboards, key business trends, financial statement analysis, and budget variance analysis.
  • Partner across the business to support monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-term forecasting processes.
  • Prepare and manage budget tools, partner with departments to develop their budgets, ensure budget accuracy, and driving budget deadlines.
  • Provide financial modeling, financial analysis, and valuation support for acquisitions and new business development.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and conduct content deep-dives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or another quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of relevant finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, or consulting preferred.
  • Exceptional Excel financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast paced and rapidly-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and presentation of alternatives.
