Founded in 2015, Hazel Technologies Inc. is a USDA-funded company that develops new technologies to extend the quality and shelf life of fresh produce in the global supply chain. The Chicago-based early-stage agricultural technology company is on a mission to reduce food waste. Shippers, growers, and retailers are always looking for new ways to ship food further, enter new markets, extend the growing season, and have less food rejected at the retail level. Hazel Technologies’ products address these needs by adding significant and measurable value throughout our customer’s food supply chains.

Hazel Technologies is searching for a Sales Development Representative to contribute to the achievements of the organization’s sales goals.

Position Description:  

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) position will be the catalyst for finding new customers and will be the crucial link between sales and operations to support current customers domestically & internationally.


Responsibilities:

  • Interact with current Global customers
  • Prospect & develop new accounts both domestically and in emerging markets
  • Communicate information across sales& operations teams
  • Manage order fulfillment logistics
  • Attend tradeshows when needed
  • Maintain CRM software (Salesforce)
  • Provide input on customer acquisition& marketing strategy
  • Administrative duties related to sales development
  • Manage inbound sales leads and new customer on-boarding

Requirements:  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm to develop professional skills related to business development, operations, sales & marketing, and entrepreneurship
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Exposure to enterprise (B2B) sales
  • Degree from accredited 4-year university
  • Familiarity with fresh produce supply chain / food retail
  • Experience with outbound & inbound sales (prospecting & new lead generation)
